So in conclusion to the last Sample of the Day post I left you with a cliffhanger as I was about to try a NEW self-tanner – St. Tropez Gradual Tanning Lotion.

This product is a body moisturizer with a touch of self tanner for a natural-looking glow. According to the product description:

“This enriched, nourishing body moisturizer cleverly combines serious skincare benefits with a healthy touch of bronze. Infused with soothing aloe vera, this lotion will help give you smoother skin while building a gradual golden tan, every day. The innovative Aromaguard™ fragrance technology eliminates the tell-tale self tan aroma by a minimum of 70%.”

Well folks, the results are in and…

I like it! The sample I received was in medium/dark but the first application is not medium nor dark – it’s very light – hence the “gradual tanning” in the name methinks. And I have super pale skin, even with my summer “tan” I’m very white.

First of all, it covered and hid any weird streaks left from using the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad, second of all, it added a very realistic tan hue! My arms were tan from vacation and my legs about matched (simply lighter).

I have to say I’m a fan of the lotions because I can use my hands and make sure I cover more evenly and get nearly everywhere on my body. I applied half of the lotion by hand, and the other half using the St. Tropez Tan Applicator Mitt. This little tool got amazing reviews on Sephora but I was worried when using it I would miss spots like the previous self tanning application.

A day later I realized I had missed some areas on my back, but it was so light it was barely noticeable. I’ll have to get boyfriend to help with that. There were two small streaks on my leg that scrubbed off with the exfoliating pad. I didn’t get a chance to use it a second time but I plan on buying the full bottle.

Another thing I really enjoyed about this was the smell. It definitely did not smell like your typical self-tanner. Having used other moisturizers with tanner, I think this one probably gives you the most results after one use.

A full-size bottle of St. Tropez Gradual Tanning Lotion will run you $30, so it’s a bit pricier than your average lotion but I’d say it’s worth a shot.
