For my first Sample of the Day post I reached into my little sample drawer and pulled out the REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. (As you may have seen, I’ll be using a beauty/make-up sample a day until I run out because I have a drawer full of them!)
According to the Sephora website, this mask is supposed to reduce fine lines and dramatically improve tone, firmness and radiance.
“This treatment safely and effectively resurfaces the skin, without causing irritation. Its four-fruit-acid-complex (lactic, glycolic, tartaric and citric) and papain enzyme create a gentle-yet-potent exfoliating action that leaves skin glowing and healthy”
-Lactic, Citric, and Glycolic Acids: Help loosen dead skin cells.
-Papain: Helps to gently exfoliate.
-Omega 7: Improves skin appearance and reduces redness.
-Omega 3: Soothes skin and helps boost cell turnover.
The sample is single use packet. Opening it revealed an orange-smelling, honey-textured goo. The instructions direct you to apply all over your face and neck. There was definitely enough in the sample packet to cover both areas for me. It felt incredibly gooey at first then started to dry, but not completely. I left it on the obligatory 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water – never experiencing any tingling or pore-scrubbing action. My skin did feel softer afterwards and the tone the next morning looked like it was slightly improved.
The REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask seemed to do an all right job, but I’m not sure I’m sold on it for $55.
